Vistex Asia’s CEO Falls To Death At Hyderabad’s Ramoji Film City During Firm’s Silver Jubilee Celebrations

In a shocking turn of events, the CEO of US-based software firm Vistex Asia died, and another official was seriously injured in an accident that happened during the company's silver jubilee celebrations at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad, said police on Friday. He died after he fell from a height of twenty feet onto the ground during the festivities.

The company's CEO, Sanjay Shah, and a colleague entered an iron cage that was going to be lowered from a height during the festivities on Thursday night, giving a grand welcome to the CEO on the stage. However, unfortunately, the iron chain holding the cage snapped on one side, causing both of them to fall, according to the police statement.

“A specially designed wooden stage was created 20 feet above the concrete stage using a crane. This involved a 6 mm iron wire with two layers on both sides. During the performance, one side of the rope snapped without a warning, and the stage fell on the people below,” Deccan Chronicle quoted a police official in a report.

They were taken to the hospital immediately, where Shah passed away while receiving treatment during the early hours of Friday, and his colleague is in critical condition, according to police. They also stated that a case have been filed against the Film City event management authorities after a complaint was filed by another company official.

Vistex had scheduled a two-day celebration for its silver jubilee and had booked accommodation in Ramoji Film City for its employees. Vistex is a Hyderabad-based firm that provides its customers with revenue management services and solutions. Vistex was established in 1999. Serving well-known companies, including GM, Barilla, and Bayer, the company has 20 global offices and over 2,000 employees.

In addition to founding Vistex, Shah also founded the Vistex Institute for Executive Learning and Research at Lehigh University and the Vistex Foundation.
