Chhaava Box Office Day 5: Vicky Kaushal’s Film Roars Past Rs 150 Crore, Shows No Signs Of Slowing Down

The historical action drama witnessed a 6.50 percent rise in collections on Tuesday, following a sharp 50.52 percent drop the previous day, according to Sacnilk. The film, directed by Laxman Utekar, has been receiving an overwhelming response from audiences.

As per industry tracker Sacnilk, Chhaava earned ₹25.56 crore net in India on February 19. Renowned trade analyst Taran Adarsh, who rated the film 4.5 stars, praised its strong performance on Monday.

"CHHAAVA': DINESH VIJAN - LAXMAN UTEKAR HIT BULL'S EYE YET AGAIN... #Chhaava has passed the make-or-break Monday test with distinction marks... The Monday biz - to put it simply - is phenomenal," the post states.

The analyst further noted that only a handful of films have crossed the ₹20 crore mark on a working day post-pandemic, and Chhaava is among them.

The film, produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, had a stellar opening, earning ₹31 crore net on its first day. It continued its strong run with ₹37 crore on Friday and ₹48.5 crore on Sunday. After five days in theatres, Chhaava has amassed a total of ₹166.06 crore net in India. The film also recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of 32.52 percent on Tuesday, as per Sacnilk.

In the overseas market, Chhaava has also performed well, grossing ₹27 crore in just four days. With a total worldwide gross of ₹195.60 crore by Day 4, the film is inching closer to the ₹200 crore milestone.

About Chhaava

A historical action drama, Chhaava delves into the life of Maratha king Sambhaji, played by Vicky Kaushal. Rashmika Mandanna portrays Maharani Yesubai, while Akshaye Khanna takes on the role of Aurangzeb.

The film also features Ashutosh Rana as Sarsenapati Hambirao Mohite and Divya Dutta as Soyarabai. Based on Shivaji Sawant’s Marathi novel Chhava, the movie boasts a powerful score and soundtrack by AR Rahman.
