'Visionary Leader': PM Modi Pays Tribute To Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj On His 395th Birth Anniversary

On the 395th birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, PM Modi paid tribute to him saying that he had laid the foundation for Swarajya.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid homage to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on the occasion of his 395th birth anniversary. PM Modi said that Shivaji’s “ valour and visionary leadership laid the foundation for Swarajya,” in a tweet on X.

Meanwhile. Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and Governor Haribhau Bagde on Wednesday paid floral tribute to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at Raj Bhavan in Jaipur.

Union Defence Minister, Rajanath Singh wrote on X, “I bow to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti on his Jayanti. His unmatched courage, commitment to justice and unwavering dedication to the welfare of the people continue to inspire us. Shivaji Maharaj’s legacy of selfless service, integrity and resilience will pave the way for prosperity and peace for coming generations.”

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, said on X, “The life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj ji, who proclaimed "Hindavi Swarajyacha", was a confluence of policy, duty and piety. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj ji, the protector of the flag of Sanatan self-respect, who fought throughout his life against fundamentalist invaders, will always be remembered as a nation builder.”

Meanwhile, people in Maharashtra's Nagpur are celebrating the birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in grandeur. They could be seen on the streets with dhols and flags, celebrating the great leader's legacy.

Shivaji Maharaj was born on February 19, 1630, at Shivneri Fort in Pune. The 17th-century Indian warrior king founded the Maratha Empire and is considered to be one of the greatest warriors in Indian history.

In 1674, he laid the foundation of the Maratha Empire in western India after fighting fiercely with the Mughals in 1670. In addition to creating a well-organized administrative system, Shivaji Maharaj established a broad civil code for the local populace.
