SpiceJet Q4 PAT Soars 3x To Rs 325 Crore On Strong Operational Performance

SpiceJet's Q4 profit triples to ₹325 crore despite 16% revenue drop. FY25 sees ₹581 crore profit vs ₹409 crore loss last year.

Budget carrier Spicejet on Saturday said its standalone profit after tax surged nearly three-fold to Rs 324.87 crore in the March 2025 quarter.

The Gurugram-based airline had posted a PAT of Rs 119 crore in the fourth quarter of FY24, according to a regulatory filing.

However, the revenue from operations for the reporting quarter declined 16 per cent year-on-year to Rs 1,446.37 crore from Rs 1,719.3 crore in Q4 FY24, SpiceJet said in the filing.

For the 2024-25 fiscal, SpiceJet posted a standalone PAT of Rs 58 crore against a loss of Rs 409.43 crore in the year-ago period.

The revenue from operations fell 25 per cent to Rs 5,284 crore in FY25 from Rs 7,050 crore a year ago, as per the exchange filing.

The airline, in a statement, said it posted its highest-ever quarterly profit of Rs 319 crore for Q4 FY25, marking its second consecutive profitable quarter, and a full-year net profit of Rs 48 crore, the first in seven years, underscoring the success of its financial and operational turnaround strategy".

The promoter group completed an equity infusion of Rs 500 crore, including the final tranche of Rs 294.09 crore in Q4 FY25, underscoring its strong confidence in the company's long-term vision and potential, it added.

"SpiceJet has delivered a strong set of results, marking a significant turnaround in our operational and financial performance. Posting a profit for the second consecutive quarter and for the full financial year after seven years is a reflection of the tireless efforts of our team, the continued trust of our passengers, and the resilience of our brand," said Ajay Singh, Chairman and Managing Director, SpiceJet.

With a strengthened balance sheet, renewed investor trust and continued network expansion, SpiceJet is well-positioned for sustainable growth, he stated.

"While the revival of our grounded fleet has taken longer than anticipated due to complex global supply chain and engine overhaul challenges, momentum is now clearly building. Our partnerships with world-class OEMs and MROs like StandardAero and Carlyle Aviation are bearing fruit, and engine overhauls are underway. With overhauled engines now returning, we expect a steady ramp-up in operational capacity in the weeks ahead," Singh added.

Stating that the heartbreaking tragedy of the Air India plane crash has deeply affected all, he said, "Our thoughts are with those affected by the Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad. Our thoughts are with the families and loved ones of those lost in this devastating crash. The entire aviation community stands together in this moment of grief".
