Ola CEO has been posting teasers about the car announcement for a while now. But it looks like the new EV car will take sometime before it arrives. He revealed that the car will go from 0 to 100 in four seconds and have a range of 500 km. The product is still under development.

Ola has already launched electric scooters in the market. However, safety concerns have been raised about these products in the past few months.

Aggarwal said that Ola Electric car will sport a futuristic looking design and the size is expected to be similar to a small hatchback. He had tweeted a design for the car back in January, and we will have to wait and see if the design remains the same.

He has tweeted a teaser about the new car.

During the livestream, Aggarwal said, “We deserve a car that defines this new India. An India that is fearless and believes in writing its own destiny. Our car is going to be one of the fastest cars in India. 0 to 100 within 4 seconds, it will have a range of more than 500 kilometre per charge. It will be the sportiest car ever built in India, with an all-glass roof, it will have Move OS and assisted driving capabilities as good as any other car in the world. It will be keyless and handleless,” while adding, our details about the car's design and performance figures remain sparse as the company has not revealed much about the vehicle.

Ola’s future factory will be expanded across an area of 100 acres in order to accommodate the manufacturing capabilities required to make 10 million scooters, 10 lakh electric cars and cells with a combined capacity of 100 GWh.

Aggarwal pointed out that the company plans to develop two vehicle platforms and six different cars, all of which will be manufactured from its giga factory in Tamil Nadu after it has been extended.

Ola also showcased its new electric battery alongside its electric car. This is completely indigenous and will be the heart and soul of future Ola Electric cars and motorcycles. It is Li-ion cell set to produce in Ola’s Gigafactory. These batteries will make it Ola vehicles by next year once all testing is complete.
