EPS-95 Pensioners Can Now Submit Life Certificate Any Time. Check Details
Pensioners under EPS’ 95 need can submit life certificate at any time that will remain valid for up to a year from the date of submission
The last day to submit the annual life certificate (or Jeevan Pramaan Patra) for government pensioners is the end of November. However, the last date for private-sector employees receiving a pension from the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) under the Employees' Pension Scheme (EPS), 1995 is different.
Earlier, EPS pensioners were also required to submit the certificate by November which caused difficulties for pensioners due to long queues and rush.
Now, pensioners under EPS’ 95 need can submit life certificate at any time that will remain valid for up to a year from the date of submission.

For instance, if you submitted the certificate on 31st December last year, this year you will need to submit it on or before the same date. The pension will get affected in January 2023 if you happen to miss submitting the certificate by the deadline.
Who are EPS’ 95 pensioners?
Employees’ Pension Scheme 1995 or EPS-95 is a social security scheme introduced in November 19, 1995 by the EPFO. The scheme entitles the employees working in the organised sector to receive a pension after their retirement at the age of 58 years. All employees who are eligible for the EPF scheme are considered for EPS. However, the EPS benefits can be availed only if the employee has been in service for at least 10 years (this does not have to be continuous service). The scheme’s benefits are available to both existing as well as new EPF members.
How to submit a life certificate digitally
You can submit life certificates digitally through Common Service Centre (CSC), Pension Disbursing bank, IPPB/Indian Post Office/Postman, Umang App or nearest EPFO Office.
Every pensioner covered under the Employees Pension Scheme (EPS) is provided with a unique 12-digit number called the Pension Payment Order (PPO) which is required to avail pension. One will need Pension Payment Order (PPO) Number, Aadhaar number, Bank account details and mobile number linked with Aadhaar during submission of the certificate.
