Corporate To Content Creator: Bengaluru Man Leaves Rs 54 Lakh Job To Write On LinkedIn

Parantap Chowdhury, who previously worked as an assistant vice president at Square Yards in Bengaluru, made the bold choice to leave behind his highly lucrative role, which paid an annual salary of Rs 54 lakh. This significant career shift was driven by his desire to write on LinkedIn and develop a digital business.
Chowdhury worked at firms such as BYJU’s and Square Yards for seven years during his corporate career. He stepped away from the corporate world about six months ago.
At 32, Chowdhury managed a sales team of over 250 members and trained more than 5,000 sales professionals throughout his seven-year career. Despite his impressive achievements, the job demands were immense, often consuming more than 70 hours of his week, including Sundays. This intense schedule left him with minimal time for personal development or to spend with family and friends.
In a heartfelt LinkedIn post, he recounted his journey of leaving his stable and well-compensated job to chase his true passion. His new focus is crafting engaging LinkedIn content and establishing a remote, digital business. "I left Rs 54,00,000 behind to write every day on LinkedIn. Here's my story: I quit the race 6 months ago so that I could have a life, spend time with people I love, and build a business: remote, digital and profitable," he wrote in a LinkedIn post.
Chowdhary was always fascinated by writing, but he chose to pursue it full-time only after stepping away from his corporate role. He has shared details of his new daily routine, which involves posting niche-specific content, engaging with valuable comments, and dedicating an hour each day to mastering LinkedIn. This commitment has led to impressive growth in engagement and followers over the past 90 days.
In addition to his writing endeavours, Chowdhury has secured two sales consulting roles through LinkedIn. However, he acknowledges that his earnings from these gigs amount to less than 10 per cent of what he would have made in his previous corporate position.
Despite the considerable reduction in income, Chowdhury remains hopeful about his future. He has a financial cushion that will support his current lifestyle in Bengaluru for the next seven or ten years if he decides to return to his hometown of Kolkata. His long-term goal is to establish a steady, remote income as a consultant while continuing to write and document his experiences on LinkedIn.
“I would have earned Rs 9,81,000 in these 90 days if I had stayed at my job. I earned less than 10 per cent of that. But I've lived more in these 3 months than the 3 years before that. Money can buy most things, but not everything,” he concluded.
