In August, 5 SUVs will be launching across different price points while also expanding the options available for the consumers

August is turning out to be a busy month for the Indian car buyers with no less than 5 SUVs launching across different price points while also expanding the options available for the consumers. They range from compact SUVs to full size three row ones along with high-end performance SUVs too.

Mahindra Thar Roxx

The 5-door version of the Thar comes in this month and it is called the Thar Roxx. The Roxx is not a Thar 3-door which has two extra doors but is based on a modified Scorpio N platform plus comes with a lot of changes mainly in the interior with more features on offer. The Thar Roxx for example will come with a full digital instrument cluster, a larger touchscreen and features like a 360 degree camera, ADAS Level 2 and a panoramic sunroof as well, The engine options would be shared with the Thar and Scorpio N but the power outputs would be adjusted for the extra weight.

Tata Curvv

Tata Motors is finally entering the compact SUV segment with its much anticipated Curvv and it will come with multiple options. The Curvv will come with  two turbocharged petrol engines including a new turbo petrol powertrain plus a diesel engine while there is an EV version of course. The Curvv is a coupe SUV based on the Nexon and will debut new features while having the largest boot in its class. Being an SUV coupe, the Curvv will bring something new to the current compact SUV space while being generously equipped with features like a panoramic sunroof, ADAS level 2, ventilated seats, 360 degree camera and more.

Citroen Basalt


Driving Into August: These New SUVs Making Waves This Month

The Basalt is the fourth new product from the French carmaker and is again entering the 4m plus compact SUV space. Design wise, the Basalt follows the coupe style SUV while the design at the front is of course based on the C3 Aircross but with differences. Crucially, the Basalt will come with more features than the C3 Aircross like automatic climate control, rear camera, digital instrument cluster, front armrest and more. The engine option for the Basalt remains the same as the C3 Aircross being a 1.2l turbo petrol with manual plus automatic options.

Nissan X-Trail


Nissan X-Trail

The X-Trail comes to India in a CBU form and is a premium offering of the Japanese carmakers while rivalling the likes of the Hyundai Tucson and the Toyota Fortuner. The X-Trail will only be launched with a 1.5.l turbo petrol with a mild hybrid setup while it would be available in small numbers but Nissan claims they have enough cars to meet demand at the start. Being a premium three row SUV, expect features like a panoramic sunroof, powered hand brake and a 360 degree camera plus more.

Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupe


Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupe

The AMG powered SUVs continue to remain an important part of their performance portfolio with the new AMG GLC 43 Coupe joining in. This performance SUVs gets styling tweaks and of course the talking point here is the turbo petrol which develops upwards of 400 horsepower and enough performance to match a sports car. This is based on the new regular GLC SUV which means it will also get the updates in terms of the styling as well while being an AMG expect some sportier touches.

Lamborghini Urus SE


Driving Into August: These New SUVs Making Waves This Month

The Urus SE is the first hybrid performance SUV from Lamborghini and joins the Revuelto. The Urus is the highest selling product for Lamborghini and this new plug-in hybrid version adds in more performance but also brings in added efficiency. There are styling changes too with bigger displays on the inside plus more features too. The new Urus SE now develops close to 800 horsepower and that is a significant increase over the earlier model.
