MG has Gloster Blackstorm which is based on the top-end while Astor Blackstorm is based on mid spec variant so as to appeal to more buyers plus also making it more competitive in terms of pricing.
MG recently launched the Gloster Blackstorm with black highlights along with red accents while the Astor also gets the same treatment now. The Astor Blackstrom is priced at Rs 14.47 lakh for the 1.5l MT while the CVT version is priced at Rs 15.76 lakh.
The highlights here for the Astor Blackstorm include an All-Black Honeycomb pattern Grille, Black alloy wheels with red front brake callipers, black finish Headlamps, glossy Black Door Garnish and Black Finish Roof Rails. There are also Backstorm emblems on both sides of the fenders.
The interiors get Tuxedo Black Upholstery with red stitching, Sangria red-themed AC Vents, an all-black Floor Console, steering wheel and doors with red stitches. The Astor Blackstorm also comes with JBL speakers which are a dealer level accessory.
Other features also include a Digital Car Key, 49 + Safety and i-SMART features, a panoramic sunroof, auto headlamps, cruise control, rear camera, climate control etc
The Blackstorm version is based on the midspec Astor and is slightly pricier but comes across as better value with these styling changes.
Interestingly the Astor Blackstorm is not based on the turbo petrol as instead it is available on the 1.5l petrol only with CVT and manual gearbox options.
These days black themed special editions are coming up and are proving to be popular with SUVs as black is making a comeback as a popular colour options while manufacturers are embracing that and launching special themed editions too
