New Tata Nexon EV Facelift: V2L And V2V Features Explained

Among the top features in Tata's Nexon EV facelift are V2L and V2V.

Tata has showcased its Nexon EV facelift and it is armed with several changes, including an electric powertrain. Among the top features in Tata's Nexon EV facelift are V2L and V2V. This means Vehicle to load and vehicle to vehicle charging. Normally we see this on higher end electric cars but this is the first time that this feature has trickled into a mass market EV. The features are simple as the car now acts as a giant powerbank. The Nexon EV facelift V2L powers other electric devices including a coffee machine, tent generator and other home electric appliances. This is very useful and lets the buyer use the cars battery to full capacity. However, in order to not deplete the battery too much, a limit can be set by the owner for the battery level. Hence this acts as a power source.

The other feature is vehicle to vehicle and again which is useful in case of an emergency charge needed by another EV. Here it is not just limited to a Nexon EV as any compatible EV can be charged by the car. This is common to a jump start and can help a stranded EV owner. However this requires both the cars to have a similar charging port while allowing both the cars to accept and give power. These days many premium EVs have this feature but as said before the Nexon EV is the first mass market EV to have this feature.
