Kia Carens Launched In India Starting At Rs 8.9 Lakh — Know Features & Other Details

Kia Carens Launch: Kia has launched the Carens with five trim levels called Premium, Prestige, Prestige Plus, Luxury, and Luxury Plus.

New Delhi: Kia has launched the Carens in India with introductory prices which start from Rs 8.99 lakh. The Carens is the fourth new launch from Kia and is called an RV where it is a combination of an MPV and an SUV. 

Options

Kia has launched the Carens with five trim levels called Premium, Prestige, Prestige Plus, Luxury, and Luxury Plus. In terms of engine options, the range starts with a 1.5l petrol which makes 115hp and is available with a 6-speed manual. 

Then there is the 1.4l turbo petrol which makes 140hp/242Nm and comes with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox with paddle shifters.

There is also a diesel engine with the Carens which is a 1.5l diesel with 115hp/250Nm with a 6-speed manual/6-speed torque converter automatic. The diesel is the most efficient at 21.3 km per litre.

Features

You can buy it standard with a 7-seater or there is a 6-seater version which comes with captain seats. The top-end variants come with features like ventilated seats, digital instrument cluster, 10.25-inch touchscreen, rearview camera, touch climate controls, an air purifier, wireless charging, AC vents for all rows, electric one-touch tumble down for the second row, a standard sunroof, cooled cup holder, retractable sunshades, retractable table for the second row, 6 airbags standard, Bose audio system, etc.

The top-end variants are also priced competitively with the Luxury Plus costing Rs 16.19 lakh for the turbo petrol manual and Rs 16.99 lakh for the DCT automatic. The Carens competes with the likes of the Maruti XL6, Hyundai Alcazar, Toyota Innova and other cars. We have the full price list below. With these prices, the Carens makes for an affordable premium MPV and that does bring value.
