Porsche has introduced the new generation Macan electric in India with a starting price of Rs 1.21 cr. The Macan is their sportiest SUV and worldwide has been one of their best sellers. In this new generation form, it is now an electric SUV. Based on the PPE architecture, the new Macan has a 800v technology for fater charging and comes in a RWD motor, a 4S and a Turbo.

 

 

We spent some time with the Turbo variant which is the fastest in the Macan range. The Macan Turbo generates 630 bhp and 1130 Nm while it does 0-100 km/h in seconds. The range per charge is 591 km. In terms of look, the new Macan is sleek and has a futuristic look with a cab forward design. There is cool detailing too while size wise it is compact along with being smaller than the Cayenne.

 

 

However, the new Macan is a bit bigger and the inside has more space it seems. The interiors have excellent quality as you would expect at this price but new to the Macan is the instrument cluster which is curved and is without a cowl. There are many customisable options but the focus is on the driver with many controls. The rear seat is now a bit more spacious too.

 

 

The Macan is more of a sporty performance suv and has always been that while now with being electric there is more power. For the price, which is Rs 1.68cr the Macan Turbo is smaller than full size SUVs but looks sleeker and is for performance focussed but also being in an SUV form.
