US Claims: Donald Trump Pushes Uranium Extraction Narrative

Tensions in West Asia continue despite claims of partial normalization around the Strait of Hormuz, as conflicting statements from the U.S. and Iran create confusion. U.S. President Donald Trump claimed that the U.S. would extract enriched uranium from Iran and maintain strategic pressure, but Iran strongly rejected these assertions. Iranian officials, including the foreign ministry, stated that no enriched uranium will be transferred and that sovereignty over resources remains non-negotiable. Meanwhile, Iran insists the strait is open under strict conditions, allowing only commercial shipping, requiring IRGC approval, banning military vessels, and restricting movement to designated safe routes and ports. However, the U.S. has not fully lifted its naval presence, keeping the blockade and tensions intact. Both sides continue to issue contradictory claims, while limited commercial shipping has resumed. Additional political statements linking the situation to global leaders like China’s Xi Jinping have further complicated the narrative. Overall, despite diplomatic signals, the situation remains highly uncertain with strategic and military tensions still unresolved.
