Why Deepika Padukone's JNU visit called a publicity stunt?

A political storm was triggered as Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone visited the JNU campus during the protests against campus violence, ahead of her film release. While many backed Deepika's move, many dubbed it as a publicity stunt. She visited the campus late on Tuesday and stood in solidarity with JNUSU president Aishe Ghosh and others who had been assaulted by masked men who were allegedly ABVP activists.
