Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury was also a part of the convoy of Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi which was headed towards Hathras to meet the rape victim's family. Talking about the way UP police handled the situation and how Rahul Gandhi was pushed he asked, "Why is UP government afraid of Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi?"

Earlier, Congress leaders and workers were stopped at Yamuna Expressway as they were headed towards Hathras where Section 144 has been imposed post the rape incident.
