West Bengal Train Accident: Rescue Operation Underway, Heart Breaking Visuals Surface | ABP News

A major railway accident took place on Monday (17 June) morning at Rangapani station near New Jalpaiguri in West Bengal. 5 people died in the accident, while 20-25 people are injured. Kanchanjungha Express runs from Agartala (Tripura) and goes to Sealdah (West Bengal). It is being told that the accident happened at 9.30 am. A goods train hit train number 13174 Kanchenjunga Express near Jalpaiguri station. The collision was so severe that two coaches of Kanchenjunga Express derailed. After this, all the teams of NDRF, SDRF and local police have started rescue work, the injured are being taken to the hospital. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has expressed grief over the rail accident by tweeting. He tweeted, a very sad accident has happened in the NFR zone. Rescue operation is going on on a war footing. Railway, NDRF and SDRF teams are working together. The injured are being taken to the hospital. Senior officials have reached the spot.
