Weather Updates: IMD Issues Red Alert For Heavy Rainfall, Watch Full Report | ABP News

The recent heavy rainfall in Delhi-NCR has led to significant traffic congestion and waterlogging on the streets. This raises concerns about the weather patterns for the upcoming months. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has made a notable forecast regarding the expected weather for August and September. According to the IMD, relief from the heat and humidity that people have endured in July may be on the horizon. However, there is also a warning that the country might experience higher-than-normal rainfall in August and September. The IMD suggests that favorable conditions for La Niña could emerge by the end of August. On August 1, the IMD forecasted that India would see above-average rainfall during August and September. The department predicts that rainfall during these months will be 106 percent of the long-term average, which is 422.8 mm. To date, the country has received 453.8 mm of rain since June 1, slightly exceeding the normal rainfall of 445.8 mm by 2 percent. This increase follows a dry June and higher-than-normal rainfall in July.
