TRAGIC ACCIDENT: Child Impaled by Iron Rod While Learning to Ride a Bicycle

A tragic accident in Ghaziabad has once again raised serious questions about administrative negligence. A 12-year-old boy, identified as Kanahiya Chaurasia, lost his life after falling into an uncovered drain while learning to ride a bicycle in his neighborhood. During the incident, the child reportedly lost balance and fell into the drain, where an exposed iron rod pierced his abdomen. Hearing his screams, local residents rushed to help and somehow managed to pull him away from the rod before laying him on the ground. He was bleeding profusely and was immediately taken to BRD Medical College for emergency treatment. Doctors treated him for nearly one and a half hours in the emergency ward, but despite their efforts, they could not save him. The news of his death left the family devastated. The boy’s father has alleged that the drain was left uncovered due to administrative negligence, leading to the fatal accident.
