Student Protest: Jharkhand Aspirants Continue Agitation Over JPSC-JSSC Exam Irregularities

The protest by students against alleged irregularities in Jharkhand’s JPSC and JSSC-CGL competitive examinations has entered its 13th day at Ranchi’s Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium. Despite heavy rainfall, thousands of students continue their sit-in, demanding the cancellation of the 14th JPSC examination and a CBI-ED investigation into alleged paper leaks and recruitment irregularities. Protesters have rejected the ongoing CID probe, alleging that it may not ensure transparency. They are also demanding complete reforms in the examination system, accountability in recruitment processes, a ban on contracts given to blacklisted companies, a fifth option in OMR sheets, and transparency in merit lists. Students have announced a march to the Jharkhand Assembly on August 10 if their demands are not addressed. Chief Minister Hemant Soren said the government is taking the issue seriously and assured that justice would be delivered after the investigation. Meanwhile, the BJP has targeted the state government and demanded accountability over the allegations. The government maintains that the CID investigation is underway and says there is no immediate need for a CBI probe.
