SIT Report Exposes West Bengal Violence: TMC Leaders Involved, Hindus Targeted in Planned Attacks

A shocking SIT report, led by three members—including a registrar from the National Human Rights Commission and two members from the West Bengal Judicial Services—has exposed the brutal and systematic targeting of Hindus in Murshidabad, West Bengal on 11 April 2025. The attacks occurred between 2 PM and 4 PM, under the alleged instructions of local TMC councillor Mehbob Alam. The findings clearly state that 113 houses were destroyed, and many victims fled to Malda due to fear and lack of police support. The report criticizes West Bengal Police for not responding to emergency calls, even when villagers from Betbona reached out on Friday and Saturday. The attackers reportedly covered their faces and strategically targeted Hindu homes in areas like Shamsherganj, Hizaltala, and Shulula Degree. Residents now demand a permanent BSF and Central Armed Police presence for protection, indicating complete mistrust in local authorities.BJP, in a press conference, condemned CM Mamata Banerjee’s silence and demanded strict action against TMC leaders. The report dismantles the narrative pushed by certain opposition leaders and highlights communal motives behind the violence. The BJP has questioned Mamata Banerjee’s empathy and urged legal accountability for her party’s role in the orchestrated violence.
