RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat Meets Muslim Clerics in Delhi, Discusses Unity and Social Harmony

In a significant outreach effort aimed at fostering communal harmony, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Chief Mohan Bhagwat met with over 70 Muslim clerics and intellectuals at Haryana Bhawan in Delhi. The meeting, also attended by Imam Organization head Maulana Umar Ahmed Ilyasi, marked a continuation of the RSS’s efforts to engage with the Muslim community.Joining Bhagwat was senior RSS leader Krishna Gopal, underscoring the seriousness of the dialogue. Sources suggest that the discussions centered around religious coexistence, national unity, and concerns of the Muslim community. Bhagwat is believed to have emphasized the importance of working together for the betterment of the country, reiterating his earlier statement: “We’re in the same boat—if we sink, we sink together.”This meeting holds particular significance ahead of the upcoming general elections, where community outreach and symbolism play a vital role. Muslim clerics reportedly raised key issues regarding social perception, inclusion, and national integration. While such interactions have occurred in the past, the presence of the RSS Chief himself makes this one especially noteworthy. It is seen as a symbolic but strategic move to bridge the Hindu-Muslim divide and promote mutual understanding in India's complex socio-political landscape.
