Most Indians are directly or indirectly involved in agricultural activities. Farmers are the backbone of our economy. They are also respectfully called "Annadata". 

But when there is a bumper crop, the price of the harvest falls and at times the farmers have to sell their produce to the government or to middlemen at throwaway prices.
