PM Modi in Varanasi: Kashi Shines with Progress, Tributes to Jyotiba Phule | ABP NEWS

During his visit to Varanasi on the eve of Hanuman Jayanti, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a large gathering and emphasized the transformative development Kashi has witnessed over the past decade. At the sacred site of Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple, he expressed gratitude for the divine opportunity to be in the holy city before the auspicious occasion. PM Modi highlighted how Varanasi, once known only for its ancient heritage, has now emerged as a modern, progressive hub and the economic center of Purvanchal. He outlined key infrastructure projects including clean drinking water initiatives, enhanced health, education, and sports facilities, as well as ongoing efforts to connect every household through development schemes. In his address, the Prime Minister also remembered social reformers Mahatma Jyotiba Phule and Savitribai Phule on Jyotiba Phule’s birth anniversary, recognizing their invaluable contributions to women empowerment and social reform. He affirmed that their ideals continue to inspire the government's inclusive approach rooted in the motto: Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas. Taking a veiled dig at opposition parties, PM Modi contrasted his development-centric agenda with those focused solely on dynastic politics. He concluded by congratulating the people of Banaras and Purvanchal for their role in driving forward the region’s growth and transformation.
