Parliament Update: Lok Sabha Proceedings Begin, Question Hour Held Before Adjournment

The proceedings of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha began at 11 AM on the second day of the Parliament Monsoon Session. The House started with Question Hour, where MPs raised queries related to government departments and public issues. During the proceedings, questions were taken up regarding sanitation workers in the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu. A question was raised about the number of sanitation workers employed in village panchayats, municipal councils, and municipalities, along with details of regular, contractual, outsourced, and daily wage employees. The members also sought information on whether the government is considering any policy for regularising workers who have been serving on temporary positions for more than five years. The concerned minister responded that details would be provided in accordance with parliamentary procedures. The Chair informed members that opportunities would be provided to discuss other important matters under the appropriate rules and procedures of the House. However, following the initial proceedings, the House was adjourned until 12 noon. The session continues amid a politically charged atmosphere, with the opposition and government expected to debate several key issues. Matters including paper leaks, student concerns, and other national issues are likely to remain in focus during the Monsoon Session.
