Operation Sindhu Brings Indian Students Back from War-Hit Iran; Families Express Relief and Gratitude

As the war between Israel and Iran escalates with relentless missile strikes from both sides, Iran continues to face massive destruction. The situation has left Indian families deeply concerned for their loved ones stranded in the war zone. In response, the Indian government has launched Operation Sindhu, a strategic mission to evacuate Indian nationals, especially MBBS students and workers, from conflict-hit regions. Many students who returned to India described the dire conditions in cities like Tehran and Isfahan, where sirens and blaster sounds were a nightly occurrence. One final-year MBBS student from Nagpur said, "We heard blasts every night, it was terrifying, but I’m grateful to be back safely." Students praised the government’s swift and well-coordinated efforts, which included meals, shelter, and transportation via special chartered flights. The Ministry of External Affairs has assured that rescue operations will continue until all Indians are safely home. Families across Mumbai, Nagpur, and other cities have breathed a sigh of relief, with one returnee saying, “If I could rate the government’s effort 10 out of 10, I’d give it 100.”
