Modi in Chennai: PM begins massive roadshow | Hoonkar

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today commended Tamil Nadu as a unique state and praised the Tamil language and culture as timeless and worldwide. He will lay the foundation stone for 11 projects later today. PM Modi is making his first official visit to Tamil Nadu since the DMK took control last year. In the 2021 assembly elections, the DMK defeated their archrival AIADMK. The state police department has put in place stringent security measures, deploying roughly 20,000 officers throughout the city. In some regions, traffic was diverted as well.
