Kolkata Flood Chaos, SUV Stuck In Mumbai Beach, Fires In J&K, And ED Raids Mark Turbulent Day

The country is witnessing a series of dramatic developments today. In Mumbai’s Nala Sopara, tourists faced a life-threatening moment when their SUV got trapped in rising seawater. Stranded for hours, the vehicle was finally pulled out with the help of locals and a tractor. The incident highlighted the risks of venturing onto beaches during high tides.Meanwhile, Kolkata has been battered by torrential rains, leaving the city virtually paralyzed. Streets, markets, and even iconic Durga Puja pandals are submerged under waist-deep water. Metro and rail services have been disrupted, and in separate incidents across the city, at least seven people lost their lives due to electrocution as water came into contact with live wires. Locals are calling it a “water curfew,” as venturing out has become dangerous and unavoidable only in emergencies.Elsewhere, tragedy struck in Jammu & Kashmir’s Kupwara district, where a massive fire engulfed five houses in Vilgam, reducing them to ashes. In Uttar Pradesh’s Muradabad, protests erupted with people chanting “I Love Mohammed” slogans, despite restrictions on unauthorized processions. Adding to the day’s dramatic news, Andaman and Nicobar’s dormant volcano has reawakened after years, spewing lava since September 20, raising both scientific curiosity and safety concerns.
