Jammu and Kashmir: 2G, Broadband services partially restored

2G mobile connectivity has been restored partially in Jammu area of Jammu and Kashmir, while broadband services have been restored for all the institutions dealing with essential services, including hospitals, banks and hotels among others. However, users will not be be able to access any social media sites and messaging services.

The step has been taken after Supreme Court said that internet was a part of fundamental rights. The court laid emphasis on normalising the situation in the valley
