IndiGo Mumbai-Doha Flight Delayed Over 5 Hours, Passengers Face Major Inconvenience

On Sunday, September 15, an Indigo flight from Mumbai to Doha was delayed by over five hours, causing significant inconvenience to passengers. The flight, scheduled to take off at 3:55 AM, saw passengers board on time, but the aircraft remained stationary at Mumbai Airport for hours. According to an NDTV report, the flight, carrying over 200 passengers, was delayed due to "technical reasons" cited by the airline. Passengers were left waiting in the plane for nearly five hours without being allowed to disembark because immigration procedures had been completed. Amidst growing frustration, the crew eventually deplaned all passengers and moved them to the immigration waiting area. During this time, one passenger claimed that no food or water was provided, and many, including those with children, were forced to wait. The delay also caused several passengers to miss work. There was no official statement from the airline regarding the delay. By 10 AM, the flight had still not taken off, and Indigo had not issued any formal update. However, the airline did apologize on X (formerly Twitter) after a user shared their experience.
