Immediate punishment should be given to rapists: BJP MP Hema Malini on Hyderabad rape case

BJP leader and MP from Mathura, Hema Malini spoke on rape and murder of woman veterinarian in Telangana and suggested immediate punishment to the culprits. "Everyday we are hearing these things happening to women, women being harassed. My suggestion is to keep the culprits in jail permanently, once they go in jail they should not be released at all," Malini said. The punishment should be such that people must develop a fear to even think about committing such crimes.

Malini's remark comes days after a 25-year-old veterinarian was gang-raped and murdered by four truck drivers and cleaners near a toll gate on the Outer Ring Road at Shamshabad on the outskirts of Hyderabad on November 27.
