Helicopter services enhance Amarnath Yatra experience for pilgrims

Sonamarg (J&K), July 16, (ANI):  Pilgrims have appreciated the authorities for providing hassle-free helicopter services to perform the Amarnath Yatra. These services are available from Pahalgam and Baltal, allowing pilgrims to book their dates based on helicopter availability. The annual Amarnath Yatra started on June 29, 2024, attracting pilgrims from across the country. Those physically fit often choose to climb the mountains on foot to reach the holy cave for Darshan. However, many pilgrims with health issues prefer other transport modes, including horses, palkis, and helicopters. Helicopter services are particularly suitable for pilgrims who wish to reach the holy cave quickly. This option is ideal for those with limited time due to short holidays or health concerns. The helicopter services are provided by private companies in collaboration with the Shrine Board authorities. Pilgrims typically book their helicopter rides in advance to secure their preferred dates. They catch the helicopter from Neelgrath Helipad and enjoy a mesmerizing seven-minute flight over the high mountains of the valley. After performing Darshan at the holy cave, they return to the same spot.
