Ashok Shankarrao Chavan is an Indian politician from Indian National Congress party, who has served as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra state from 8 December 2008 to 9 November 2010. The Congress, NCP and the Shiv Sena were left surprised as Devendra Fadnavis was sworn in as Chief Minister with Ajit Pawar as his deputy.
