Delhi poll revolves around Shaheen Bagh and not development

The focus of Delhi elections has gradually shifted to issues like Shaheen Bagh and the sedition charges on Sharjeel Imam, rather than being pitched on developmental issues. The politicians have started targetting each other on the anti-Citizenship amendment act protests in Shaheen Bagh. The issue finds a constant mention in the speeches of Bharatiya Janata Party leaders.

JNU student Sharjeel Imam, who has been accused of making controversial statement "cut off Assam", leading to sedition charges, was arrested on Tuesday from his home town Jahanabad in Bihar by Delhi Police after a four-day manhunt.
