Delhi Government Launches Mohalla Bus Service: Unique Features and Advantages Explained
The Delhi government has commenced a week-long trial run for its mohalla bus project, marking progress towards implementing the scheme aimed at improving last-mile connectivity in the capital. The trial routes, from Akshardham to Mayur Vihar Phase-3 and Majlis Park to Pradhan Enclave in Burari, have been launched. Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot stated that feedback from this trial will guide the project's expansion. The initiative involves collaboration with IIT and other organizations to analyze commuting patterns using mobile data and enhance route efficiency. Delhi Integrated Multi-Modal Transit System (DIMTS) and Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) are assessing the feasibility of proposed routes on the ground.
