Cyclonic Storm Threatens Gujarat: Heavy Rainfall Expected, Red Alert Issued As Flooding Devastates Avalpara | ABP News
A cyclonic storm forming near Kachchh is heading west-southwest towards Oman, causing significant concern in Gujarat. The region is bracing for heavy rainfall, with orange alerts issued for Surendranagar, Amreli, and Rajkot, and a red alert for Kachchh, Dwarka, Porbandar, and Jamnagar. The storm, which is intensifying from a deep depression, threatens strong winds and further heavy rain, potentially worsening conditions in Saurashtra and central Gujarat. In Avalpara, approximately 400 to 450 houses remain submerged, with extensive water damage to homes and belongings. Residents are displaced and facing severe shortages of food and water, growing increasingly frustrated with the lack of administrative support despite ongoing aerial surveys.
