The Budget 2024 has earmarked a substantial ₹58,500 crore for various development projects in Bihar, marking a significant investment in the state's infrastructure and growth. Key initiatives include the construction of three major expressways—Patna to Purnea, Buxar to Bhagalpur, and Bodh Gaya to Vaishali—totaling ₹26,000 crore, along with a new two-lane bridge in Buxar. Additionally, a ₹21,000 crore power project is planned for Pirpaiti in Bhagalpur. The budget also includes plans for the development of airports across the state and the establishment of new medical colleges. An industrial corridor is set to be created in Gaya, and efforts to boost religious tourism will focus on enhancing attractions like Vishnupad Temple, Mahabodhi Temple, and tourism and cultural development in Rajgir and Nalanda. To address flood issues, ₹11,500 crore has been allocated for flood control and mitigation projects. Moreover, investments will be made in developing sports infrastructure throughout Bihar.
