Breaking: One Dead, Several Injured As Muharram Procession Flag Touches High-Voltage Wire In Bihar

A tragic incident occurred during a Muharram procession in Bihar's Rohtas district, where a ceremonial flag came into contact with a high-voltage electric wire. The mishap took place at the Akbarpur Chauraha during the "Chand Ka Juloos," resulting in a powerful electric shock that left more than eight individuals severely injured and one dead.Eyewitnesses report that as the procession moved forward, one of the tall flags carried by participants accidentally brushed against an overhead power line. In an instant, several people were electrocuted, and panic erupted among the crowd. The injured were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where they are undergoing treatment. Authorities are yet to release an official statement on the condition of all victims. The National Commission for Minorities and several local leaders have demanded a thorough investigation into how such negligence occurred during a large public religious event. Meanwhile, questions are being raised regarding the lack of proper safety measures and coordination between local administration and event organizers. The unfortunate incident has cast a shadow over the otherwise peaceful Muharram commemorations in the region. Police presence has been increased in the area to manage crowd control and prevent further chaos.
