Breaking News: Students Raise Concerns Over CBSE OSM Evaluation System

Students across India are raising serious concerns over CBSE’s On-Screen Marking (OSM) system, claiming major technical and evaluation errors. Many students allege that the scanned answer sheets provided on the portal are blurred, making it difficult to read answers clearly. This has led to fears that teachers may also have evaluated unclear copies, resulting in unfair marking, including zero marks on some answers. Students and parents also report that the CBSE re-evaluation portal is not functioning properly. Issues include website crashes, login failures, captcha errors, and payment problems, preventing many from applying for rechecking or viewing their answer sheets. CBSE has introduced OSM for over 17 lakh Class 12 students this year, but critics say the system was implemented without proper preparation. Students are demanding clarity on how evaluation was done, why blurred copies were uploaded, and how fairness in marking can be ensured. Amid growing frustration, students are questioning CBSE’s transparency and accountability, while some have also highlighted financial and academic stress due to delays in the re-evaluation process. The board, however, maintains that the system is functional despite complaints.
