Breaking News: Scorching Heatwave Grips Jaisalmer, Temperatures Soar To 50°C

Jaisalmer is currently in the grip of an intense and unforgiving heatwave, with temperatures hovering between 48°C to 50°C. Life has come to a standstill in the Golden City as residents struggle to cope with the searing conditions. The blistering heat has made it nearly impossible for people to step outside, especially during the afternoon hours. Locals report that even riding a bike in such heat feels unbearable, with hot winds ("loo") posing serious health risks.Streets wear a deserted look, and those who are out are seen seeking shelter under trees, shades, or roadside stalls selling lemon water and other cooling drinks. The situation is even more dire for people living on pavements or working in open areas, as they face the brunt of the heat without access to basic facilities like drinking water or cooling shelters.Although some temporary shade tents and water booths have been set up by authorities, many citizens feel it is too little, too late. With no signs of relief in sight, people are being urged to stay indoors during peak hours, hydrate frequently, and avoid unnecessary exposure.
