Breaking News: CBSE On-Screen Marking System Under Scanner After Allegations
Concerns have been raised regarding the Class 12 results of the Central Board of Secondary Education, with students and parents questioning the on-screen marking and evaluation system. Many allege that technical flaws and poor implementation of the system may have led to lower marks this year, prompting increased demand for re-evaluation and rechecking. In a report by ABP News, a technician involved in scanning answer sheets revealed alleged operational issues during the scanning process. According to him, the software used was poorly optimized, frequently crashed, and was supported by low-quality hardware, causing delays and inefficiencies. He also claimed that continuous usage often led to system breakdowns, forcing repeated scanning of answer sheets in some cases. The technician further stated that a large number of answer sheets—around 35,000 to 40,000 at a center—remained pending due to time constraints and workload, leading to manual intervention in some cases. He added that a single worker could scan only about 500–700 sheets per day, contributing to delays in processing. These revelations have intensified debate over the efficiency and reliability of the CBSE evaluation system, while officials have not yet issued a detailed clarification addressing these specific allegations.
