BREAKING: Datia By-Poll Counting Begins, BJP’s Ashutosh Tiwari Leads After First Round

Counting of votes is underway for the Datia Assembly by-election, with the first round results showing BJP candidate Ashutosh Tiwari taking an early lead of around 900 votes. Datia has traditionally been considered a strong BJP seat and was previously represented by former Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra, making the by-election politically significant. The contest gained attention after BJP decided not to field Narottam Mishra and instead selected Ashutosh Tiwari as its candidate, leading to discussions among party supporters and political observers. The first round of counting has been completed, while several more rounds are still pending. Although the result is not expected to impact the state government’s stability, the outcome carries importance due to the political developments surrounding the seat. Congress candidate Ghanshyam Kunwar is also in the race, while the by-election was triggered after Rajendra Bharti faced legal action and was removed from the party following the completion of the election process. The Datia by-poll has become a closely watched battle due to the changing political dynamics, leadership decisions, and internal reactions within major parties. Election officials are continuing the counting process, and further updates are expected as more rounds are completed. Meanwhile, attention is also focused on other major by-election contests, including Bihar’s Bankipur seat, where Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor has entered electoral politics and is attracting significant attention.
