Election Commission seeks report on Yogi Adityanath's 'Modiji ki sena' remark
he Election Commission on Monday sought a "factual report" from the Ghaziabad District Magistrate on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath calling the Army "Modiji ki sena" (Narendra Modi's army).
The District Magistrate would have to submit the report to the Chief Electoral Officer in Lucknow by Tuesday noon, an Election Commission official said.
The Chief Minister had, during a rally in Ghaziabad on Sunday, described the Indian Army as 'Modiji ki sena", sparking criticism from the opposition parties who on Monday slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) strongman for politicising the armed forces and demanded an apology.
