Kumar Vishwas Trends On Social Media After Saif Ali Khan Knife Attack. Here's Why
Kumar Vishwas's name began trending on social media after the knife attack on Saif Ali Khan as his controversial comments about naming celebrities' children after historical invaders have resurfaced.

Poet Kumar Vishwas's recent controversial remarks about actor Saif Ali Khan and his son have resurfaced on social media following the knife attack on the latter. At a programme held at a private university in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, Vishwas questioned why celebrities would name their children after historical invaders. While he did not directly name Saif Ali Khan or his son, Taimur, the references were clear enough to link the comments to the actor and his child.
A viral video from the event shows Vishwas remarking, “Those living in the world of glamour must understand what the nation desires. This won't work anymore — you take fame from us, money from us, we buy tickets and make heroines & heroes. But the child from your third marriage is named after some lame invader.”
In the same video, Vishwas continued, “There are so many names that you could have chosen. But you named your child after that rapist. Now, if you want to make him a hero, we won't let him become even a villain. India has awakened after 75 years.”
These comments sparked outrage on social media all over again and his name began trending on X (formerly Twitter), with many netizens blaming Vishwas' rhetoric for allegedly inciting the attack on Saif Ali Khan.
The question is, is this speech of Kumar Vishwas responsible for the radicalization of those who attacked Saif Ali Khan and his children? pic.twitter.com/7ZNafi4lxE

"What happened to Saif Ali Khan wasn’t a robbery attempt. It was an attempt on his and his kids' lives. Just last week Kumar Vishwas delivered a hate speech attacking Saif, Kareena, and their kids. What happened today could very well be an outcome of that hate speech," one user wrote.
Another claimed, “This hatred for Saif's son is a product of the hate narrative fueled by people like Kumar Vishwas. When will this toxic mentality end?”
Others questioned whether any action would be taken against Vishwas, with one asking, “Kumar Vishwas recently made dog-whistling remarks against Saif Ali Khan. Will any action be taken against him?”

Saif Ali Khan, who was rushed to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital after the attack, is recovering well from the injuries sustained during the assault. The 54-year-old actor was stabbed multiple times, including in his neck, and underwent emergency surgery. He is expected to be discharged in two to three days, according to his doctors.
The attack occurred early on Thursday morning at Saif’s Bandra apartment, where he was with his wife, actress Kareena Kapoor, their two sons, and five house staff. The intruder, who did not forcibly break into the apartment, reportedly asked for Rs 1 crore, according to a statement from Jeh's nanny, Eliyama Philip, who first encountered the attacker.
Maharashtra Minister of State for Home, Yogesh Kadam, confirmed that no underworld gang was involved in the incident.
