Peak Bengaluru: Landlord's Fancy 'Acceptance Letter' Takes Tenant By Surprise
"This is very typical… People shortlist based on the company you work for as well. I’m not kidding..," commented one user.
Finding a place to live on rent in Bengaluru, silicon valley of India, is always a tough job as demand for rental properties due to growing migration of software engineers in the city is high. What's surprising is that Bengaluru landlords have been treating the rental process more like a job application than a simple transaction. However, a woman took to the microblogging site X, formerly Twitter, to share an intriguing twist to the norm.
The woman shared a screenshot of a rental offer from a landlord that was more formal than a job offer.
"Hi. It was a pleasure to meet both of you on that day. As I mentioned during our meeting, I’ve been personally meeting with those who have expressed their interest in the property. While I haven’t had the chance to meet everyone yet, I have formed a reasonable idea of who among them would best appreciate and maintain the premises. Among the shortlist, I would like to extend the first offer to both of you," read the message from the landlord.
"#PeakBengaluru moment happened when we got selected after an apparent interview with the house owner," read the caption of the post.
