The video was posted on the social media handle X along with a caption that reads, “A 6-foot Indian Rock Python was seen crossing a road in Aarey Forest on Tuesday night."

A 6-foot Indian Rock Python was seen crossing a road in Aarey Forest amid heavy rain in Mumbai on Tuesday night. The video that was captured went viral on social media. As the video garnered attention, netizens voiced a concern regarding the traffic management at night around Aarey Road.

The snake was spotted as the city was inundated with heavy rains on Wednesday and IMD declaring a red alert for the city. Vehicular and rail traffic was hit in Mumbai after heavy rains battered the city, inundating low-lying areas, halting local trains and diversting several flights.

The video was posted on the social media handle X along with a caption that reads, “A 6-foot Indian Rock Python was seen crossing a road in Aarey Forest on Tuesday night. A reminder of Aarey’s rich biodiversity and the need to protect wildlife corridors.”

Social Media Response To Viral Video

After the video went viral on social media, the users came up with mixed responses. Advising to close traffic during the night, one of the users said" I feel, the Aarey road should be closed to traffic in the night - from 10.30-11.00 am to morning 5.30 am."

The next users said while making sarcasm, "Come to Goa.... Rock Pythons are crossing the Road at Miramar, CARANZALEM etc..... It is Normal NOT RICH BIODIVERSITY.....JAIBHO."

"Thx for sharing. Closing Aarey to vehicular traffic after sunset will be a great first step!" another user said.

The fourth user said, "Thank god, he was allowed otherwise some rascals would have brought it under the wheels..."

The next said, "Aarey Forest is home to many snake species. Let's protect their habitat!"
