An employee's innovative justification for arriving late to work has caught the attention of his boss and the internet. Twitter user Ujjawal Athrav recently replied to a WhatsApp message from his boss with a Gopi Bahu meme. And, the reply he received in turn has left people in splits.

Ujjawal posted a screenshot of a conversation with his boss on WhatsApp along with the description "Monday getting worse." The exchange started between them after the boss inquired about the reason for Ujjawal’s delayed login and wrote "You haven’t login yet. What happened" to which Ujjawal chose to go the humorous route and shared a famous meme of Gopi Bahu from the popular Television serial Saath Nibhaana Saathiya washing a laptop. The iconic moment has become a memorable scene in Indian television history.

The boss was quick to respond with a witty answer. He wrote, "Mai bhi tumhaare hike ke sapno pe aise he paani ferunga,” loosely translated as “I’ll splash water on your dreams of a promotion too."

Though Ujjawal’s excuse was entertaining, it was the boss' reply that stole the show and atrracted responses from socail media users

Since being shared, the post has amassed close to 42,000 views. Additionally, the share has gathered more than 1,1800 likes. It has also accumulated tons of comments.
