Earthquake In Delhi Sparks Meme Fest, Check Out The Funniest Ones

The epicentre of the earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale was in Jammu And Kashmir's Doda district.

An earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale hit Jammu and Kashmir Tuesday afternoon. The tremors that occurred moments after 1:30 pm and lasted for few seconds also shook Delhi and parts of north India. The epicentre of the earthquake was in Jammu And Kashmir's Doda district. No damages to life and property have been reported yet from any of the quake hit areas.

"An earthquake of 5.4 magnitude was recorded in J&K's Doda today. Tremors might have been felt in HP, Chandigarh, Punjab and all adjoining areas. Maybe the aftershock will be of lesser magnitude than the main shock," Dr OP Mishra said, as quoted by ANI. 

Soon after the quake hit, Delhiites rushed to Twitter to check whether it had really happened. And after the news was confirmed, netizens started sharing funny memes and hilarious jokes on the micro-blogging site.

As the quake hit, one of the Twitter user shared a scene from the film Hera Pheri which shows several people running.

While another shared a scene from the popular TV show Tarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chasmah in which the protagonist is saying to someone that he is no more scared of her.
