Telangana Logs 10 Omicron Cases, Records Huge Surge In Covid Cases At 1,052
Ten new omicron cases have been recorded in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of Omicron cases in the state to 144.
Hyderabad: Telangana reported 1,052 new Covid-19 infections on Tuesday, with 10 new Omicron cases. In the last 24 hours, 240 persons have recovered from Covid, according to the state health department.
This is the first time, Covid cases have recorded over 1,000 Covid since June 2020. In the last 24 hours, 42,991 Covid tests were performed in the state. A total of 1,052 people have tested positive for Covid-19. According to the state health department, the total number of cases reported in the state are 6,84,023.
Two people have succumbed to the deadly virus taking the total death toll to 4,033. The current recovery rate is 98.70 per cent.
In addition, Omicron cases in the state are on a constant rise. 10 fresh Omicron cases have been recorded in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally of the recent Covid variant in the state to 144.
According to the health department statement, 127 passengers from "at-risk" and "low-risk" nations have landed at Hyderabad International Airport in less than 24 hours. Covid RT-PCR tests were performed on all of them, and eight of them have tested positive. Authorities to send the test reports for genome sequencing to know if they are Omicron infected.
So far, 13,405 travellers from "at-risk" and "low-risk" nations have arrived in Hyderabad.
