Congress On Path Towards Victory In Telangana Like In Karnataka, Says Jairam Ramesh

Ramesh, the party's communication incharge, made his comments following the announcement by former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi in Telangana.

Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh on Monday exuded confidence that the party is headed towards victory in Telangana as it had done in Karnataka. Taking to twitter, Ramesh said "The Congress party in Telangana has already announced the Farmers’ Declaration in Warangal and the Youth Declaration in Hyderabad, yesterday (Sunday) Rahul Gandhi announced a guaranteed pension of Rs. 4000 per month for senior citizens and widows. He also promised to return Podu land to adivasis if the Congress forms government".

"From the time of the Bharat Jodo Yatra that went through 8 districts of the state covering 405 kms and evoking a tremendous response from the people, it is clear that we are headed towards victory in Telangana as we did in Karnataka," he said.

Ramesh, the party's communication incharge, made his comments following the announcement by former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi in Telangana. During a public meeting called 'Jana Garjana' in Khammam on Sunday, Rahul Gandhi promised that if the Congress Party is voted to power, widows and senior citizens will receive a monthly pension of Rs 4,000. Additionally, he pledged that the Congress would return Podu lands to tribals if they came into government.

Launching a scathing attack on Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, Rahul Gandhi described the state's ruling party as "BJP's B-Team" and said KCR is under the control of Prime Minister Modi because of his “corruption activities”.

“Telangana and its youth should understand one thing that KCR is under the control of Prime Minister Modi because of his corruption activities. The corruption he did in the liquor scam is known to all agencies. That's why I said that TRS is BJP's B-Team and they have accepted that by changing their name to BRS, which means BJP Rishtedar Samithi,” Rahul Gandhi said.

Rahul Gandhi further alleged that the corruption charges against KCR and his party's leaders have made them subservient to the BJP, and this is the reason why the prime minister yields control over him.
