WhatsApp is working to introduce a helpful feature that will let users know when they miss a call when Do Not Disturb (DND) mode is turned on. According to WABetaInfo, the feature, available for WhatsApp Android beta testers, will also let them know the time of the missed call. WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.22.21.7 mentions the new feature under development, "the ability to use the Do Not Disturb API".
This feature will make it easy to understand if the user missed a call due to their do not disturb settings. This WhatsApp beta feature available within the Google Play Store, for some beta testers. However, it is unclear when this feature will make it to all WhatsApp users via a stable update.
"As you can see in this screenshot, it is easy to discover if the feature is already available for your account: just enable do not disturb mode right within your phone settings and ask a friend to call you for some seconds. In case you see a new label “Silenced by Do Not Disturb”, it means the feature is finally enabled for your WhatsApp account!," WABetaInfo wrote on its webpage.
"The Do Not Disturb mode support for missed calls has been released to some beta testers today and it is rolling out to more users over the coming days," WABetaInfo added.
Meta-owned WhatsApp is also working towards introducing a new feature called "Companion" mode. WABetaInfo had said the companion mode is being tested in the beta version, and added that this feature will let people access the existing WhatsApp account on a secondary mobile, which is a much anticipated feature.
WhatsApp currently does not allow users to access a WhatsApp account on two smartphones. However, WhatsApp lets its users link their account to up to four four different devices such as laptops, PCs and tablets.
